What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies — such as values kept in your browser's local storage — are covered by this policy too.
What we set, and why
- Session — keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Essential.
- Security token — protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Essential.
- Language preference — remembers the interface language you picked.
- Adult-content confirmation — records that you confirmed you are 18 or over, so you are not asked on every page. Set only if you confirm, and it expires after about 30 days.
- Visitor identifier — a random value with no name attached, so a view or a click is counted once per device rather than once per page load.
- Bot protection — set by our anti-abuse provider when you submit a public form such as a broken-link report or the contact form.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell what any of these record.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones will stop you signing in, submitting listings or reporting a broken link. Clearing the adult-content confirmation simply means you will be asked again.
Changes
